One thing that Americans can be thankful for this Thanksgiving is Teddy Santis’ contributions to New Balance’s MADE in USA line this year. Stepping into the creative director role for the brand’s homegrown division last year, Santis has ushered in several successful collections since. Now, as a holiday release, another slate of New Balance 990v3 and 990v2s have launched.
Favoring a “White/Blue” presentation, this duo of New Balance staples explores a new color composition while maintaining a classic structure with both sneakers. Each pair carefully balances mesh, leather and suede throughout its upper as white and creamy hues are joined by strong blue and black accents. Looking closer at the 990v3, its typical 990 series branding arrives on the lateral heel in silver while the “N” logo appears in blue with a black outline. Flipping this, the 990v2’s “N” logo utilizes a black base and blue outline. Additional details for the 990’s second iteration includes ABZORB branding, pointing towards the technology’s presence in the sizable sole unit.
For those interested in grabbing either pair of New Balance MADE in USA “White/Blue” sneakers, HBX has both available now.
In case you missed it, Boston-based retailer Bodega has teamed up with New Balance to outfit its new 9060 silhouette in an “Age of Discovery”-themed colorway.
