WNBA icon Elena Delle Donne has released the latest colorway for her first signature shoe as a nod to the league she plays in and her other female athletes in the professional game of basketball and beyond.
Arriving in “Safety Orange,” the Nike Air Deldon is dressed in various hues of the bright citrus color scheme. Invoking the message of the WNBA and the movement that shows and the initiative of athletes for female representation in sport, the shoe is a statement piece of its own. The shoe features FlyEase on the upper, Nike’s key piece of technology that allows athletes of all capabilities to wear their sneakers effortlessly. As a major advocate for FlyEase, Donne incorporates the technology into her shoe for her older sister Lizzie who was born with cerebral palsy and autism and has struggled with footwear all her life.
The silhouette is complete with an entirely orange upper, featuring speckled rope-like details as the laces, which match a portion of the mudguard on the front. The FlyEase is highlighted in pale yellow, while the shoe comes constructed with an Air Strobel and semi-translucent outsole to round out the design.
