Los Angeles based streetwear brand, Maybe Tomorrow has teamed up with Saucony for a unique capsule that presents a collaborative take on a classic story. Debuting at ComplexCon, here is a detailed look at the Maybe Tomorrow x Saucony Better Together capsule.
The Maybe Tomorrow x Saucony 3D Grid Hurricane Better Together capsule is based on Aesop’s “The Tortoise and the Hare.” The collaboration include special iterations of the 3D Grid Hurricane and Shadow 5000 that give new perspective to the fable by claiming the runners work “better together,” as they look towards a shared finish line. The two styles take inspiration from the titular characters in the classic story. The 3D Grid Hurricane Tortoise features a green colorway, with brown pebbled leather detailing at the toe to resemble a shell. The Shadow 5000 Hare includes a gray and white colorway, with laces and a Saucony logo made to evoke the feeling of rabbit’s fur.
“I wanted to create a world where running with one another was better than competing against each other. We took the classic story and rewrote it to where the 2 characters come to the realization that they are ‘better together’, which my partner Ryan and I identified with. We found this story was the most metaphorical way to represent not just Saucony as a running brand, but the way we, as Maybe Tomorrow, came together as well.” – Mark Nguyen, Co-Founder, Maybe Tomorrow.
The Maybe Tomorrow x Saucony 3D Grid Hurricane Better Together capsule will first be exclusively available for purchase at the Saucony x Maybe Tomorrow booth at ComplexCon in Long Beach starting November 19th. The 3D Grid Hurricane will retail for $160 and the Shadow 5000 will be priced at $150.
