2020 saw New Balance reintroduce its popular 2002R model, giving the lifestyle sneaker various colorways and unique makeovers ever since. One renewed interpretation arrived last year, featuring removable pouches fashioned in a signature grey palette — and now the Boston-based imprint is adding similar mesh pockets to another colorway, dubbed “Midnight Green.”
Boasting simplistic tones, knit mesh underpinnings outfit the pair, while leather trimmings lay atop contrasted by “Sea Salt”-colored overlays. The previous runs through the mudguards, lacing systems, medial panels, and rears alongside dark green touches that land on the fuzzy heel tabs, liners, and profile logos.
The versatile sack hangs from the laces and features a small zipper to store your goodies. New Balance branding accompanies and decorates the circular tongue emblems, tails, and ankles.
The New Balance 2002R “Nightwatch Green” is rounded out by aged N-ERGY midsoles and two-toned rubber bottoms.

In other footwear news, tumbled leather mudguards hit the Nike Air Max 97.
